Public Bank has received the following 3 awards in the NACRA 2009 at the award presentation ceremony held on 1 December 2009 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, Kuala Lumpur:

According to the Chairman of the NACRA 2009 Organising Committee, Mr Stephen KL Oong, the key objective of NACRA is to promote excellence in corporate reporting, and the award is to acknowledge and recognise high quality corporate reporting. Winning the NACRA is akin to being recognised as an exemplary leader in high quality annual corporate reporting.

The Founder and Chairman of Public Bank, Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow, who has fully recovered from a recent minor operation which he had undergone in July 2009, has resumed an active role in the Public Bank Group and he holds weekly briefings and consultation sessions with his Senior Management staff.

Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow today said: "I am truly delighted that Public Bank's culture of excellence, developed through the 44 years of Public Bank's operations, has once again received recognition, this time for Public Bank's excellence in corporate reporting.

Receiving one award for the first time can be exhilarating, but Public Bank has received the Overall Excellence Platinum Award, the Industry Excellence Award and the Best Annual Report in Bahasa Malaysia for so many times, and this is indeed very exhilarating. Such achievements of excellence can only be possible with the teamwork and commitment of both Management and staff in the Public Bank Group."
